Rigid gas permeable aspheric with toric periphery
The elliptic geometry of Beta in conjunction with the toric periphery offers improved lens stabilization when vision is optimal but the fitter wishes better lens stabilization, in cases of corneal astigmatism greater than 1.50 D.
Myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism up to 2.50 D, first and second stage of keratoconus
Base curves: 7.00 to 8.60 mm in 0.10mm steps, aspheric
Toric periphery: 0.20mm (additional parameters are available: 0.30 up to 1.00 mm toricity in 0.10 mm steps)
Diopters: +20.00 to -25.00 in 0.25 D steps
Diameters: 9.80 (Additional parameters are available)
Materials: Optimum Extreme Dk 125, Optimum Extra Dk 100, Boston XO Dk 100, Optimum hi refractive index, Paragon FSA 52
The Beta Toric has been designed to cope with those cases where Beta or any other aspheric lens, provides acceptable vision in medium or high astigmatism, but not the required stability due to the toric periphery required. Additionally, there are indicated cases where the periphery of the lens is protruding from the cornea, increasing the lid awareness.
